To help during the busier seasons Maplewood hires student interns to assist with different parts of the boutique within the student’s interest. The summer interns for 2021 are college students Maya Highsmith, Lauren Lieser, and Mckenzie Uhrig. Highsmith, a student at Kent State University (KSU), will oversee merchandising and pricing for Maplewood. Lieser, another KSU student oversees the social media accounts, photo styling and thrifting for the Pre-Owned rack. While University of Akron student, McKenzie Uhrig, manages the fashion blog, email campaigns, and updates the store’s website.

“After graduation, I plan on moving to a bigger city and pursuing a career in the fashion industry; I’m particularly interested in working with a social media/creative team for a fashion company.”

When styling a fall outfit Lieser started with a pair of thrifted wide-legged olive pants from Maplewood’s Pre-Owned collection. The wide-legged pant creates a longer, slimmer, and more dynamic silhouette that can be easily adapted into any style. Lieser then paired the pants with the new cream multi-colored striped sweater from Maplewood’s fall collection at Reverie. This cozy sweater’s warm color combination is perfect to make you stand out in the cooler weather of the fall season. The trendy outfit is a chic, casual look that can be added to every modern fashionista’s closet.
